Mats Karlsson receives the ISoP Leadership Award 2024

The Faculty of Pharmacy congratulates Mats Karlsson, Professor of Pharmacometrics, on receiving the ISoP Leadership Award 2024, an honor recognizing excellent leaderships that contribute to advance pharmacometrics in the fields of science.
Mats Karlsson, Professor of Pharmacometrics at the Department of Pharmacy, is awarded the International Society of Pharmacometrics Leadership Award 2024. The award, established in 2009, is presented to individuals who demonstrate outstanding leadership and mentorship and contribute to a work environment that is respectful, collegial and supportive.
In 2001, Uppsala University named Mats Karlsson the world's first Professor of Pharmacometrics. Today, Mats leads a research environment without equivalent in his academic field. To date, more than seventy PhD students have defended their theses in the corridor that is currently the workplace for some forty pharmacists, chemists, biologists, system developers and statisticians. In addition to a prosperous scientific output, the group's research has generated Pharmetheus, a company with more than a hundred employees, many of whom have a background in the research group.
Mats Karlsson will accept the The ISoP Leadership Award 2024 at the ACoP14 conference in Phoenix, Arizona (US).
