Project on risk of falling among the elderly receives funding from Nära Vård och Hälsa

Helenas Fabians research project Health and Risk of Falling in Older Adults: A Study of Patients at Elderly Care Units has received funding from Nära Vård och Hälsa.

The study investigates health status and fall risk factors among individuals aged 75 and older who have visited elderly care units in Region Uppsala. By analyzing data from approximately 12,000 health consultations and assessments, the project aims to identify factors associated with falls. The results may contribute to more person-centered and effective fall prevention strategies, ultimately reducing the number of falls among frail older adults and promoting a more sustainable healthcare system.
