The Anatomical Theatre

A large part of the Gustavianum experience is the building itself. As the university's oldest preserved building, it is of great architectural, cultural and historical interest. One of its main attractions is the anatomical theatre, built by Olof Rudbeck the Elder in the 1660s. The theatre is a first-class museum exhibit in its own right, and under the domed cupola in the attic, visitors can bring their tour of the museum to a grand conclusion.
