Solar cells

Research on solar electricity concerns new materials and structures for more environmentally friendly and cost-effective solar cells with higher efficiency and longer life-expectancy. The focus is on various types of thin-film solar cells, perovskite solar cells and combinations of these with established solar cells. The research includes advanced materials analysis and materials theory computations together with manufacture of materials and complete solar cells. Another part of the research concerns solar irradiation, forecasting and use of solar energy in buildings and the built environment.
