Time to apply to become a distinguished university teacher

On Monday, the application period opens for admission as a distinguished university teacher within the Disciplinary Domain of Medicine and Pharmacy. It will be open from 2 February to 2 March 2026.

Application

You apply for admission in Varbi.

Send an inquiry to cim.frode@uu.se and august.aronsson@uu.se (send to both recipients). You will then receive a link to the recruitment system Varbi, which you use to upload your application.

The application period is open from 2 February to 2 March.

The Pedagogical Academy

If you are admitted as a distinguished university teacher, you will also become a member of the Pedagogical Academy. As a member, you will have the opportunity to participate in initiatives to promote pedagogical development across the entire Disciplinary Domain.

Who can apply?

If you are a tenured teacher at the Disciplinary Domain of Medicine and Pharmacy whose position includes time for research (lecturer, senior lecturer or professor), you can apply for admission as a distinguished university teacher.

This also applies if you are an adjunct teacher (i.e., employed by Region Uppsala or another principal), provided you are highly engaged in teaching and research at the Disciplinary Domain.

You are also required to have completed at least 10 weeks of relevant training in teaching and learning in higher education.
