Coaching
Individual coaching
The Career and Leadership Development Centre offers coaching for researchers, teachers and leaders at Uppsala University. Coaching is a reflective process that can deal with a variety of aspects, such as your own personal development, career or role as a leader.
Coaching aims to clarify different topics to help you become clearer in your choices and also clearer to others. The idea is to develop your ability to see opportunities, clarify driving forces and skills and create your own basis for decision making. During different phases of our working life, it may be important to reflect on topics such as:
• What motivates me?
• What do I perceive as my strengths and in what contexts do I excel?
• What do I perceive as obstacles that need to be addressed?
• How do I relate to changes, etc.?
• How do I lead myself and others?

Career can be, but need not be, synonymous with mobility upward. With a broader perspective on career, it means rather reflecting on what you want and how you look at different development opportunities.
Coaching is a process by which we can co-create and develop ourselves by being constructively curious together about what’s already working well while creating opportunities for facing future challenges.
About the process
The process consists of individual meetings, either physically or via Zoom. There may be one or more meetings that revolve around you and your relationship with your work. The layout is based on your needs.
Preparations and conditions
What do you need to prepare? Really nothing. Come as you are. You do not need a fully formulated question. Together we define what is important for you to talk about.
Coaching is confidential and the process's privacy is governed by law.
Coaching is free for you as an employee at Uppsala University, the investment is your own work effort.
The role of the coach
The coach's role is to be curious about exploring your ideas and thoughts. The coach assumes that you are an expert on what is relevant for you and that you have the answers.
