Welcome to Studio Blåsenhus!

Prioritization order
Starting from the spring term 2025 (VT25), a prioritization order has been introduced, based on the purpose of Studio Blåsenhus:
- Studio activity for education and "Studio as a learning environment" with the aim of enhancing teaching at Uppsala University (e.g., creating materials that can be used in courses and programs at Uppsala University).
- Studio activity for research communication with a focus on teaching (e.g., creating materials that can be used in courses and programs at Uppsala University)
- Studio activity for research studies (e.g., creation of materials) conducted by employees at Uppsala University.
- Other studio activities with a focus on eduation
The studio team reserves the right to decide which projects we undertake and which projects we refer to other studios and units within Uppsala University, according to the purpose and prioritization of Studio Blåsenhus.
Support and coaching
At Studio Blåsenhus, pedagogical and technical support is always available. Starting in the fall semester of 2025, pedagogical and pedagogical-technical coaching will also be offered at Studio Blåsenhus. These two types of support and coaching are described below.
Option 1: Pedagogical and Technical Support
Pedagogical support includes basic guidance in planning your studio activity together with an educational developer during a 30–45 minute consultation (on Zoom) before the studio session.
Technical support includes on-site assistance during the studio activity with connecting your computer, adjusting lighting and sound, performing simple editing, and transferring files. All of this is provided within the framework of a booked studio session.
Option 2: Pedagogical and Pedagogical-Technical Coaching
Coaching builds on pedagogical and technical support. It means active guidance, feedback, and support — from your initial idea and planning through to the completed studio activity and integration of the material into the learning platform. Through coaching, we help and actively challenge you to make pedagogically informed choices at every stage of the process, with the goal of enhancing teaching and student learning.
Coaching begins with a consultation with a coaching specialist (either on-site at Studio Blåsenhus or via an interactive Zoom session), lasting 45–60 minutes.
All steps of the coaching are provided jointly by a service specialist and an educational developer, in collaboration with you as the user.
Pedagogical coaching means working actively together with you to prepare, conduct, and integrate accessible and pedagogical material, with the goal of supporting teaching and student learning.
Pedagogical-technical coaching means working actively together with you to combine studio technology with pedagogy, with the goal of supporting and developing teaching and student learning. Pedagogical-technical coaching focuses on how the use of studio technology can support, improve, and enrich teaching and learning. It helps you make informed choices about which studio technologies to use, and how to use them effectively, always with the aim of benefiting teaching and student learning.
Through this free-of-charge coaching service, we help and actively challenge you to make pedagogically informed choices — with the ultimate goal of enhancing teaching and student learning!
The studio menu (Studiomenyn)
The Studio Menu (currently only in Swedish) is a selection of the hundreds of recording projects created by our users in Studio Blåsenhus over the past three years. In the Studio Menu, you as a user can explore examples of recordings and studio activities related to lectures, learning glass, green screen, podcasts, panel discussions, interviews, and more. The Studio Menu is designed to give you the opportunity to find inspiration and learn from previous users.
What does it look like in Studio Blåsenhus?
Studio as a learning environment
Over the past three years, we have carried out around thirty student projects in Studio Blåsenhus, ranging from podcasts to video recordings, all aimed at functioning as a form of examination. We see that students greatly appreciate this type of learning opportunity, that it supports their learning, and that it strengthens elements such as professional relevance and oral communication skills.
During 2024–2025, we created the documentary "Studio som lärmiljö" (Studio as a Learning Environment) to provide insight into what this work can look like from both teacher and student perspectives. In the documentary, you meet students and teachers who share their experiences of working in Studio Blåsenhus at Uppsala University. The students describe their learning process while working in the studio, and the teachers explain the reasoning behind their decision to conduct the learning activity in Studio Blåsenhus. The documentary was created by Sofia Grunér and Andreas Forsberg.
