Useful information
Application rounds
International admission round
We strongly encourage all international students to apply for programmes in the international application round, which opens from mid-October to mid-January.
Swedish admission round
If you are an EU/EEA citizen (or if you already have a residence permit in Sweden or the EU/EEA) and you have missed the international application round, in some cases it may be possible for you to apply for specific programmes and courses in the Swedish admission round. However, please note that most international programmes will not be open for applications in this admission round.
If you can apply for your programme in the Swedish admission round, you do so at the national application website for Swedish students www.antagning.se. The website is entirely in Swedish, but the steps for applying are the same as when you apply through www.universityadmissions.se.
Please be aware that the Swedish admission results are announced very close to the start of the academic semester. Therefore, if you need a Swedish residence permit, you will not have time to obtain one before the start of the semester. Due to Uppsala's housing situation, it will also be extremely difficult to arrange accommodation at such short notice.
This information also applies to applications to freestanding courses.
Late applications
Don't miss the deadlines! We strongly encourage you to apply to programmes, pay your application fee, and submit all required supporting documents (including certified proof of your citizenship) by the given deadlines. Do this to ensure that your application will be processed and considered. Applications received after the deadline are regarded as late and there is no guarantee that your late application will even be processed.
See the application deadlines on universityadmissions.se
Late applications: If you submit your application, pay your application fee, or submit any supporting documents after the given deadlines, your application will be regarded as late. Once the application period ends, admissions officers will begin by assessing applications that were submitted on time. Once this process is completed, and only if there are still seats available in the programme, late applications will be considered.
Procedures for late applications differ in the second admission round, where students apply through the Swedish application website www.antagning.se. Once the deadline has passed, all programmes and courses close for application. First applications that were submitted on time are processed, and if there are still seats available in the programme or course, it will reopen and you will be able to submit a late application.
If you submit a late application, you will not be eligible to receive a scholarship. It is therefore important that you submit a complete application on time.
