International admission round

We strongly encourage all international students to apply in the international admission round, which runs from mid-October to mid-January.

Swedish admission round

If you are an EU/EEA citizen (or already have a residence permit in Sweden or the EU/EEA) and missed the international round, you may be able to apply for a few programmes or courses in the Swedish admission round. Apply through Antagning.se (website in Swedish). The process is the same as on University Admissions.

Please note that results are announced very close to the start of the semester. If you need a residence permit, you will not have time to obtain one, and finding housing in Uppsala on short notice is very difficult.

This also applies to applications for freestanding courses.

Do not miss the deadlines! To ensure that your application is processed, you must apply, pay the application fee, and submit all required documents (including certified proof of citizenship) by the given deadlines.

Applications submitted after the deadline are considered late. These are only processed if there are still places available after all on-time applications have been reviewed. There is no guarantee that a late application will be considered.

For the Swedish admission round, students apply through Antagning.se. When the deadline passes, programmes and courses close for applications. Some may reopen later if places remain available.

Please note that if you submit a late application, you will not be eligible for scholarships.

We therefore strongly recommend submitting a complete and on-time application.
