About the course
The course has two parts. The first part introduces the basic principles of discourse analysis as scientific theory and method. The main focus is discourse theory as presented by Ernesto Laclau and Chantal Mouffes and critical discourse analysis as presented by Norman Fairclough. The second part focus on how various discourse analytical perspectives and concepts can be operationalised in empirical studies.
