Entry requirements
130 credits whereof at least 5 credits at Master's level in Industrial Engineering and Management. The courses Industrial Management, Innovation Management and Marketing for Industrial companies should have been attended.
Learning outcomes
After a successfully completed course the student should be able to:
- analyse technical development and entrepreneurship based on a broader industrial context,
- describe and analyse industrial activities from a socio-economic perspective,
- account for and critically review the emergence of major industrial players, such as countries, regions, and industrial networks,
- account for technical, economic, social, ethical and political conditions for industrial competitive activity in or linked to Swedish conditions,
- account for and analyse a selection of organisational management concepts and models related to industrial entrepreneurship.
Content
The industrialisation process at global, national and regional level. A global overview as well as a specialization on Swedish experiences of industrialization. Potentials and conditions for industrialisation, linked to classical and modern economic theories of production factors, entrepreneurship, innovation, and theories. Technical, economic, social, ethical, and political dimensions of industrialisation. Individual deepening based on current scientific research in an arbitrary aspect of the industrialization process.
Instruction
Lectures, exercises, guest lectures, study visits and seminars.
Assessment
Written assignments and oral presentations.
