Entry requirements
120 credits including Power Systems.
Learning outcomes
On completion of the course the student shall be able to:
- Describe and analyse the distribution grid structure, measurement instruments and system protection,
- perform system analysis of a distribution network with various specific software such as Matpower, openDDS or PSS / E,
- describe and discuss statistical methods to construct load profiles, load forecasting and reliability.
Content
Distribution systems and important aspects such as load forecast, relay coordination, voltage stabilisation as well as integration of local renewable energy sources.
Instruction
Lectures and computer labs.
Assessment
Project work (3 credits), computer labs (2 credits).
If there are special reasons for doing so, an examiner may make an exception from the method of assessment indicated and allow a student to be assessed by another method. An example of special reasons might be a certificate regarding special pedagogical support from the disability coordinator of the university.
