Learning outcomes
On completion of the course, the student should be able to:
- put into practice knowledge within ethics, molecular biotechnology and/or bioinformatics in an innovation project
- have knowledge in relevant fields for future employment including project methods, leadership and sustainable development
- search, compile, use and interpret in a critical way information from different relevant fields of technology
- in a project group, plan and carry out an innovation project within a given period of time
- analyze the project from a sustainability perspective, including environmental, economic and social aspects
- present the project orally and in writing, focusing on different audiences
- give positive feedback on the oral and written presentations of the other students.
Content
The individual project work intends to train planning and implementation of projects in industry, and to integrate, deepen and develop the student's skills within a delimited field of what is taught within the program. Oral and written communication and giving feedback is emphasised both within the project group and towards external partners The course trains project methods, including group dynamics and gender aspects on group work, and sustainable development and ethics.
Instruction
The course consists of project work in groups, with additional lectures, seminars and group supervision. Participation in seminars and exercises is compulsory.
Assessment
Examination: Lectures and active participation in seminars are compulsory as well as written assignments covering the different theoretical aspects, and
the realisation of a project according to the instructions. During the examination of the project, emphasis is laid on the project plan, the project report and the project documentation, as well as on the oral presentation and the discussion of the project.
If there are special reasons for doing so, an examiner may make an exception from the method of assessment indicated and allow a student to be assessed by another method. An example of special reasons might be a certificate regarding special pedagogical support from the disability coordinator of the university.
