Kort presentation

Biografi

BIOGRAPHY

I am an interdisciplinary researcher and teacher with an interest in the intersection of gender and medicine, bodies, reproduction and practice-oriented ethics.

I am since 2021 pursuing my doctoral studies at the interdisciplinary research school WOMHER with a broad focus on gender, health and reproductive medicine. Previously to entering doctoral studies, I had earned a double master’s degree in Gender studies (120 ECTS, Södertörn University) and Global Health (60 ECTS, Karolinska Institutet), publishing my thesis results in peer-reviewed journals such as lambda nordica and Reproductive Health.

Throughout my scholarly work I have developed a strong expertise in inter- and cross-disciplinary research methodologies. I have previously earned 9 ECTS course credits in Medical Humanities at Uppsala University, and I am part of the Medical Humanities Seminar, the Family and Kinship Research group and Queer Seminar.

Funding and awards

In 2024 I was awarded “The Audience Choice Award for Best PhD Poster” at the WOMHER International Conference. My poster titled “A Narrow View of Women’s (Mental) Health? Oocyte Donor Assessments at Swedish Public and Private Clinics” resonated with the audience “for its clarity, accessibility and innovative approach”.

In 2025, I received a scholarship to participate in the research course ‘Queer methodologies in medical humanities’ at the Centre for Medical Humanities, Durham University.

In 2025, I received one month's research support for work on a postdoctoral application from the Helge Ax:son Johnson Project Grant Foundation.

In 2023 and 2024, I received financial project support from the Family Planning Fund at Uppsala University.

Teaching

My teaching experience includes feminist theory, gender, sexualities and bodies, family and reproduction, and academic writing in undergraduate gender studies. I have also been responsible for the centre's online course, as well as sub-courses at A and B level. In addition, I have taught medical humanities (intersectionality in healthcare), anthropological perspectives on medical practices, and have a broad interest in professional issues in healthcare and issues of power and equality in healthcare education. At the Centre for Evolutionary Biology (UU), I have taught queer theory in the interdisciplinary course ‘Gender in Biology and Gender Studies’.

I have completed the foundational course in higher education pedagogy, 7.5 credits, (spring 2024).

I have been a guest lecturer on two different professional programmes at KI, as well as on the Medical Programme at UU.

Academic service

Between the years 2022-2025 I worked as a book review editor for the Nordic queer journal lambda nordica. [

In 2023 I was elected vice president of Sweden's Association for Gender Researchers (SGF).
