Kort presentation
Anders Thappers forskning ligger inom biooorganisk och biomimetisk kemi, specifikt studier av metallkomplex som strukturella och/eller funktionella modeller av metallenzymer.
Forskningen inom artificiell fotosyntes är inriktad på att använda övergångsmetallkomplex som katalysatorer vid oxidation av vatten till syrgas. Det övergripande målet är att länka dessa katalysatorer till pigment för att kunna oxidera vatten med hjälp av solenergi.
Biografi
Anders Thapper disputerade i oorganisk kemi vid Lunds Universitet år 2001. Efter en första post-doc vid Universidade Nova de Lisboa i Portugal i Professor José Mouras grupp så återvände han till Sverige och Uppsala Universitet för en andra post-doc under 2005. I Uppsala studerade han inledningsvis Fotosystem II i Professor Stenbjörn Styrings grupp men blev med tiden mer involverad i artificiell fotosyntes och speciellt mangan- och koboltbaserade katalysatorer för vattenoxidation. Sedan maj 2007 är han anställd som forskare vid Institutionen för Kemi - Ångström och sedan november 2011 är han docent i molekylär biomimetik.
