Our research infrastructure provides support and services to researchers and research projects affiliated with the region. We offer training, supervision, and conduct our own research.
The research is broad and spans many fields, primarily within healthcare but also across other areas of the region’s operations. We collaborate with universities, colleges, municipalities, and industry. The aim of the research is for its results to lead to improved care and services for the region’s residents.
We also carry out research and innovation activities in collaboration with other partners, both within the county and nationally and internationally.

Centrumrådet
Our daily operations are led by its director and supported by the Central Council, where representatives of Uppsala University and Region Västmanland sit. The Center Council meets twice a year.
