About the National Centre for Knowledge on Men's Violence Against Women

The National Centre for Knowledge on Men’s Violence Against Women (NCK) is a national knowledge centre on men’s violence against women and domestic violence, honour-based violence and oppression, sexual violence, as well as prostitution and human trafficking. NCK is also commissioned with providing support to victims of violence.
NCK works with training of professionals and students, method development for the care of women exposed to violence, and with information, research and knowledge compilation.
NCK's Clinical Department (Kvinnofridsenheten) at Uppsala University Hospital operates four national support lines:
- Kvinnofridslinjen 116 016 (the national support line for women)
- Support Line for Men 020-80 80 80 80
- Support Line for Transgender People 020-55 00 00
- Rätt att välja 020-57 70 70, for individuals who live with rules and requirements to protect the family’s reputation or honour.
NCK also operates Sweden's first specialist clinic for women who have been victims of violence – an out-patient clinic at Uppsala University Hospital.
