Use of x-ray equipment at the Department of Chemistry - Ångström Laboratory, room 3210, 3211 and 3218
Rules for use of the x-ray equipment in room 3310 and 3311 and 3218.
General terms of use
- Users are NOT allowed to adjust or repair the instruments in any circumstances. Only qualified staff can carry out such technical service. It is every users responsibility to report any faulty and abnormal status of XRD/XRF facilities.
- The user MUST inform their self about the general laboratory safety.
- Access is only given to persons employed by Uppsala University or visiting scientists and students doing exam work or similar longer project.
- The user MUST have basic knowledge about the x-ray diffraction, e.g. courses in Solid State Physics/Chemistry.
- The user MUST attend a “driving license course” covering the practical use of the instruments. Only the person responsible for the instruments is allowed to give this course and approve access the laboratory.
- Only the person responsible for the instruments can give access to the x-ray equipment. Persons not following the rules regarding the use x-ray equipment can have their access terminated.
- The individual user MUST be able to use the instruments by themselves. No “measurements services” is given by persons from the Department of Chemistry Ångström Laboratory.
- All users MUST follow the rules regarding the use of the instruments and the sample handling. Individual rules is stated at or near each instrument.
Term of use for External Users
- A written agreements with external users regarding the use of the instruments MUST be made with the Department of Chemistry - Ångström Laboratory.
- The payment for external use MUST be paid to the Department of Chemistry - Ångström Laboratory. This is also valid if the measurements are a part of a larger project.
- In case of low accessibility, Uppsala University users has priority for using the instruments.
- External users (companies) MUST have a written agreement regarding the use and the costs for the measurements.
Access to the x-ray laboratory
The x-ray laboratory (room 3210, 3211 and 3218) has card access and only persons with “driving license” have access the rooms.
Access is ONLY give after introduction/training by the person responsible for the instruments.
All questions regarding the access to room 3210, 3211 is handled by the person responsible for the instruments.
