The 2nd European Symposium on Polymer Electrolytes for Battery Applications, ESPE-2
9-11 June, 2025, at Uppsala University, Uppsala, Sweden

POLYMERS, BATTERIES & NETWORKING
Polymer electrolytes are at the heart of exciting advancements in battery technology, offering new paths for exploration. After the success of the first ESPE in 2023, ESPE-2 will gather Europe's leading researchers and emerging talents in Uppsala in June 2025.
Join us to share knowledge, network, and collaborate on the future of polymer electrolytes!

Thank you for participating!
Thank you very much for participating in the second edition of the European Symposium on Polymer Electrolytes in Uppsala!
The high scientific quality of the talks, posters and discussions together with the friendly atmosphere created makes this conference another success.
Welcome to the second ESPE symposium
Polymer electrolytes have a long history in battery research and both material development and our fundamental understanding of ion transport mechanisms in polymers have evolved with it. Today, we are standing at the crossroads overseeing many possible winding paths down battery lane with a multitude of battery technologies to choose from. Diversification in many different cell chemistries opens new avenues to explore and encourages us to revisit some concepts and findings of past days.
After the success of the first ESPE at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) in Germany in September 2023, ESPE-2 will take place at Uppsala University in Sweden on 9–11 June 2025.
While we remain dedicated to other international communities, not least the ISPE (International Symposium on Polymer Electrolytes), we, the Organizers, feel that continuing with a more limited meeting in terms of scope and geographical target group would still be appreciated. It is our ambition to assemble primarily the European academic research community in this area, including a large number of PhD students and other newcomers, together with relevant researchers from industry.
Through this meeting, we would like to give newcomers to the field the opportunity to meet leading experts, present their latest results, network and find new colleagues and friends to advance the development of polymer electrolytes together.
We hope to see many of you in June in Uppsala!
The Organizers,
Guiomar Hernández, Jonas Mindemark, Mats Johansson
