Description
CLIMES DN is a Horizon Europe Marie Skłodowska-Curie Doctoral Network coordinated by Uppsala University and focused on understanding and predicting the impacts of climate extremes under global change. The network brings together universities, research institutes and societal partners across Europe to train a new generation of interdisciplinary researchers working at the interface of climate science, data science, health, engineering and the social sciences.
The project investigates the socio-economic impacts of multiple climate extremes, with a particular focus on Europe and Africa. Research activities address climate impact data, risk assessment, impact forecasting and the societal consequences of extreme weather events including floods, droughts, wildfires and compound extremes.
CLIMES DN combines interdisciplinary research with structured doctoral training, mobility and collaboration across academic, public and private sectors. The network contributes to improved climate risk understanding and supports adaptation and resilience planning in a changing climate.
