What will you be focusing on over the next five years?

My project is about political violence in democracies. I will investigate drivers of acceptance of political violence, and in what ways political violence affects equality in political participation. Knowledge about how violence as a tool of political power becomes accepted in democratic societies is increasingly urgent. It is also important to understand why and how this violence increases inequality and how to counter such a development.

What are you most looking forward to?

It is very valuable to be able to focus on one research project for five years. The programme also includes two guest research stays, one at SCAS and one abroad. It will be exciting to make new connections and get inspiration from other research environments.
