Equal opportunities at the Department of Government
The Department of Government works to ensure that all staff and students are treated with respect and given the opportunity to work and pursue studies on an equal basis regardless of sex, gender identity or expression, ethnicity, religion or other belief, disability, sexual orientation, age or social background.

If you are exposed
If you experience harassment, sexual harassment or other victimisation, the University is obliged to investigate and take measures to end the harassment or victimisation. It is therefore important that you report it. As a student, you can turn to the head of department, your study counsellor (who is bound by professional secrecy) or to the department's equal opportunities representative at the department Malin Holm malin.holm@statsvet.uu.se.
Equal opportunities plan
The department has an equal opportunities plan, which details goals and measures related to the different grounds for discrimination.

Functional diversity
If you have a disability that is an obstacle for your studies or in your profession, there is support available at the university. A student counsellor for students with disabilities is avaiable at the department.
Study counsellor for students with disabilities
If you have a disability, you can get support in your studies. For example, you can get help with taking notes during lectures, a sign language interpreter, course literature in the form of talking books or more time during exams. It is important that you contact the university's coordinator for students with disabilities when you register for a programme or course.
