Climate Politics
The Climate Politics (ClimPol) seminar series at the Department of Government brings together researchers with a shared interest in climate and environmental politics.
The seminar welcomes contributions employing a wide range of theoretical perspectives and methodological approaches, including both qualitative and quantitative work, as well as theoretical and normative analyses. Presentations may consist of early-stage drafts, advanced manuscripts, book proposals, or completed research.
ClimPol provides a forum for constructive discussion of research on key issues in climate politics, such as climate governance, environmental policy-making, climate activism, political participation, and the societal impacts of climate change. Examples of topics discussed in the seminar include international climate cooperation, climate-related hazards and policy responses, environmental governance in different political contexts, the political dimensions of loss and damage, climate movements, and traditional forms of political participation related to climate and environmental issues. By fostering an open and collegial environment, the seminar aims to support ongoing research and stimulate interdisciplinary dialogue on some of the most pressing challenges of our time.
