Per Manells pris 2025

The Faculty of Pharmacy congratulates Nora Al Zubeidi, student at the Master of Science Programme in Pharmacy, on receiving the Per Manell Award for Best presentation of degree project 2025. Honorable mentions go to Sham Shaat and Wilma Ellison.

Thursday 5 June, the Master of Science Programme in Pharmacy at Uppsala University arranged the traditional Project Symposium where students in semester 9 present their degree projects to fellow students, teachers, families and guests. The symposium began with all students giving short project presentations, a much-appreciated feature that clearly demonstrates the breadth of the research conducted at the Faculty of Pharmacy. Some students also had the opportunity to give longer presentations.

“The format is reminiscent of a scientific conference, where each presentation is followed by discussion and questions from our moderators. It is a valuable part of the students' preparation for their future professional lives,” says Jörgen Bengtsson, Chair of the Master of Science Programme.

The following poster presentation attracted many and engaged visitors, giving the students opportunity to go further into detail about their degree projects. The Alumni Association Farmis, led by Chair Dag Larsson, was onsite to experience the presentations and select the day's most outstanding presentations.

“We are very happy that so many of our alumni prioritise participating in this important day. It is inspiring for the students and gives them valuable opportunities to establish contacts for their future professional lives,” says Lisa Fredriksson Carreras, ProgrammeCoordinator.

The Per Manell Award for Best degree project presentation was awarded to Nora Al Zubeidi, who conducted her work in toxicology. Honorable mentions were also given to Sham Shaat and Wilma Ellison, who both gave high-quality presentations. On hand to present the Awards was Martin Belin, alumnus and Market Access Value Proposition Manager at AbbVie, and we congratulate Nora Al Zubeidi on a well-deserved autumn trip to Brussels where she will experience the European pharmaceutical work.

“As we today, towards the end of these students' education, see the great knowledge they have acquired and how skillfully they present their work, it is easy to feel proud. After the summer, they will embark on practical training at a pharmacy before they are ready to take the step into professional life as fully-fledged pharmaceutical experts, and we are certain that their skills will play an important role in the labor market, state Jörgen Bengtsson and Lisa Fredriksson Carreras.
