NordicPharmaTrain is a leading hub for pharmaceutical research and education, dedicated to training the next generation of scientists in the Nordic region. Our mission is to strengthen the local competence ecosystem by preparing young researchers to become independent experts. Graduates from NordicPharmaTrain will leave with deep knowledge in their specific fields, complemented by training in emerging technologies essential to the pharmaceutical sector.
NordicPharmaTrain serves as a dynamic educational environment for translational and innovative pharmaceutical research, promoting mobility within the consortium and with external collaborators—from the vibrant regional life science sector to international partners.
The NordicPharmaTrain educational focus includes:
- Access to large-scale research infrastructures (e.g. synchrotrons) for students and researchers in applied pharmaceutical sciences.
Interdisciplinary training through collaboration across fields like drug delivery, biology, and advanced manufacturing. - Mobility of senior researchers to support shared teaching and resource exchange.
- Short-term research stays for PhD students to enhance learning and collaboration.
- Open access to all partner laboratories, fostering hands-on experience and cooperation.
- Educational activities such as guest lectureships, webinars, workshops, and short courses to complement research training.
Through open collaboration among world-class scientists at partner universities, NordicPharmaTrain aims to deliver top-tier education and research, laying the foundation for future pharmaceutical innovation.
In parallel with research training, young scientist (PhD students and post docs) at our partner universities will have the opportunity to take part in the NordicPharmaTrain mentor program.
Our mentor program is designed to help to expand professional networks within Nordic biotech and pharma, strengthen collaborations between academia and industry, and gain valuable insights and advice for career journeys beyond NordicPharmaTrain.
