Drug design is a scientific discipline within drug development that focuses on designing and optimizing chemical compounds to be used as drugs
Our research
Our research is focused on drug design and early drug discovery
Antimicrobial drug discovery
We conduct research in early drug discovery targeting drug targets that are significant in infectious diseases, with a focus on bacteria and viruses prioritized by the WHO. In our work, we integrate computer-based drug design with organic chemistry. We work closely with microbiologists, biochemists, and structural biologists.
Computational Medicinal Chemistry
In this research area, computer-based methods for medicinal chemistry and early drug discovery are developed, evaluated, and used. We work closely with synthetic chemists and our drug discovery projects.
Development of efficient synthetic methods
In this research area there are several groups working on the development of new and efficient synthetic methods.
