Description
Heart failure is a substantial public health concern given its increasing incidence, high prevalence, mortality and healthcare costs. Despite the plausibility of the association, knowledge regarding the role of psychosocial factors in the development and the prognosis in heart failure remains limited. This project aims to contribute to a better understanding of the role of psychosocial factors in the etiology and prognosis of heart failure and of patterns and predictors of work disability in heart failure patients of working age. We will analyze data from population-based registers and quality registers, as well as from a population-based study involving survey and clinical data. A better understanding of the role of psychosocial factors in the etiology and prognosis of heart failure and the patterns and predictors of work disability will be informative for prevention strategies.
