History of science
The history of science collection consists of instruments and objects that have been used in teaching and research at Uppsala University's various departments. The collection has grown through purchases and donations from the 16th century onwards.
Departmental collections
Today, Gustavianum strives to collect and preserve objects from all scientific fields at Uppsala University. In this way, the University's shared material cultural heritage can be preserved and exhibited in the future. Items that have recently been added to the history of science collection are an early 20th century abacus, a laptop computer from 1981 and a radiation protection helmet from the recently closed Svedberg Laboratory.
