National collaboration

Sweden lacks, unlike many comparable countries and major education nations, a national centre that provides a research-based, independent analytical capacity for higher education and research. This should be seen alongside the ambition to develop key infrastructures that can be useful to researchers, the sector, policymakers, and public authorities. HERO has extensive experience collaborating with agencies such as the Swedish Higher Education Authority, the Swedish Council for Higher Education, the Swedish Institute, Delmi, as well as with leadership bodies at other higher education institutions. Another form of collaboration is participation in ongoing debates and the initiation of new debates. Here, too, there is substantial experience within HERO’s research network.
