Report on the Specialist Nursing Programme to be presented to the Disciplinary Domain Board on 15 April

The working group that has developed concrete measures to develop the Specialist Nursing Programme at Uppsala University during the spring will present its report to the Disciplinary Domain Board on 15 April.

The background is that today’s Specialist Nursing Programme maintains a high quality but face financial deficits, declining student numbers, and challenges related to long‑term competence provision. The working group has met on seven occasions and has also worked in two sub‑groups to examine specific issues. The employee organisations have been kept informed of the progress throughout the process.

The working group’s objective has been to specify and further develop the proposals put forward in last autumn’s review, and to prepare a basis for a decision for the Disciplinary Domain Board. The purpose, in the short term, is to reverse the negative financial trend and, in the long term, contribute to maintaining a high‑quality and sustainable Specialist Nursing Programme.

The working group’s report will be submitted to the Disciplinary Domain Board at its meeting on 15 April. The Board is expected to decide on potential measures at its meeting on 20 May.

After 15 April, the report will be formally recorded and subsequently published on the staff gateway. It will also be presented to the employee organisations on 9 April, in accordance with Section 19 of the Swedish Co‑determination Act (1976:580).
