Wallenberg Scholars
The Scholars program aims to support and stimulate some of the most successful researchers at Swedish universities. The universities can nominate individual researchers, who, through their research and development potential, hold the highest international class and are expected to contribute to strengthening the current profile of the research area at their university.
It is a five-year grant of SEK 5 million per year that the researchers can use freely for their research activities. The intention of the grant is that the researchers should be able to work with a high level of ambition in order to gain even better international impact for their research, as well as be given an opportunity to take on bolder and more long-term projects.
The candidates must have a permanent employment at a Swedish university and serve at least 70% in the country in order to be considered for a Scholar grant.
Next call
The Foundation is planning to have the next Wallenberg Scholars call in 2030. The internal prioritization process at the University will start during 2029.
