Inventory of needs Research infrastructure 2025
An internal needs inventory for research infrastructure for the Swedish Research Council's Needs Inventory of Research Infrastructure of National Interest 2025.
Link to the survey
We are about to begin a new round of need inventory for research infrastructure of national interest. The Swedish Research Council has announced that it will probably open the call in October 2025. Before submitting needs to the Swedish Research Council, Uppsala University conducts an internal inventory of the research's need. Identified needs will first be prioritized at the diciplinary domain level, and then prioritized by the Research Infrastructure Board followed by a decision by the Vice-Chancellor on 23 September.
Uppsala University's internal inventory is carried out via a survey in KURT, which is open between 7 April and 12 May 2025. A link to the survey will be available on this page from April 7.
Based on the previous needs inventory and information from VR, research infrastructures relevant for this inventory are those that intend to apply for funding in the upcoming call 2026/27.
- Need for new research infrastructure
- Need to bring together and significantly develop existing resources
- Need for continued operations for a research infrastructure with an ongoing grant where the grant period expires in 2027 and 2028.
- Need for more extensive development within a research infrastructure with ongoing grants
- Please see the Swedish Research Council's text for a previous needs inventory. It is likely that the instructions for this year's needs inventory will be similar.
