In case of fire

If a fire starts, press the alarm button, call 112 and evacuate according to the routine described in the section on evacuation on this page.

Most spaces in the Ångström laboratory are equipped with water sprinklers that are triggered locally by the heat of the fire. When a sprinkler is activated, the automatic alarm to the fire department is also triggered and the evacuation alarm is activated in affected houses.

Lithium-ion batteries

If a lithium-ion battery shows an elevated temperature, you should:

  • wrap the battery in a fire blanket and carry it outside the building
  • call the Janitor's Office's at 070-425 06 62.

If the battery starts to emit smoke or catches fire, call 112.

If a lithium-ion battery begins to smoke or burn inside a room in the building, you must leave the room immediately, close the door behind you, and call 112.

Fire cell doors

All door parts facing corridors and stairwells are usually fire cell doors with magnetic holders and these must not be set up with wedges or other obstacles. It is of utmost importance that they can be closed in a fire situation. Doors with magnetic holders must always be closed with the door closing button.

Hand held fire extinguishers

Hand held fire extinguishers are located in every corridor in the Ångström laboratory. These fire extinguishers are also indicated on the evacuation boards in the corridor. Please memorize the location of them so that you can quickly retrieve one if needed.
