Exchange studies
There are plenty of opportunities for exchange studies at Faculty of Science and Technology, both for you who want to come to Uppsala or Visby as well as going to one of our partner universities.
Exchange studies are applied to through exchange agreements with partner universities via one of the following:
- University-wide exchange agreements
- The Faculty of Science and Technology's exchange agreements
- Subject- or department specific agreements
Note that the different agreements may have different prerequisites and selection procedures.
Depending on where you want to go and what you want to studiy, there may be different offers and opportunities, so be sure to familiarize yourself with the selection below!
Incoming exchange students
If your home university has an exchange agreement with the Faculty of Science and Technology you have the opportunity to attend exchange studies in Uppsala or Visby.
Agreements in technology and natural sciences
Study science and technology abroad via an agreement from the Faculty of Science and Technology or one of its departments.
Application periods for incoming exchange studies
Nomination period for coming autumn semester
- March 1–April 1
Nomination period for coming spring semester
- September 1–October 1
Apply for exchange in Uppsala during autumn semester
- March 15–April 15.
Apply for exchange in Uppsala during spring semester
- September 15–October 15.
Application period for outgoing exchange studies
Application period for the autumn and coming spring semester:
- 15 January–15 February.
Application period for remaining places for the coming spring semester:
- 15 August–15 September.

There are, besides exchange studies, also other possibilities to go abroad with the Faculty of Science and Technology.
Question regarding exchange studies?
- For general exchange questions, you can meet the faculty's international coordinator in drop-in via Zoom during term time every Monday at 16.00–17.00.
- You can also meet with the faculty exchange coordinator for questions regarding exchange studies on Wednesdays between 12:30-15:00 via drop-in at campus Ångström room 100186.
- You can also contact a study counsellor who can answer how an exchange affects your studies and suggest things to think about.
Contact
- You can turn to the Student Services Unit and the reception desk at Ångström laboratory if you have general study questions. The reception can help with register extracts, certificates, and one-time codes for student accounts - among other things.
