About the course
How can we understand armed conflict and peace? This course aims to give an introduction to the central puzzles and research areas of peace and conflict research. Key concepts linked to explaining the causes, dynamics and resolution of conflict are presented and discussed. You also learn how to conduct conflict analysis, including how to independently collect and analyse data on armed conflicts and how to weave theory and empirics in a research paper.
Outline for distance course: Teaching principally consists of self-studies and correspondence with the head teacher via an online platform. To participate in the course, students need a computer and access to internet. There are no common course sessions. Teaching language is English; however, assignments can also be submitted in Swedish.
