Plasmonik
Vår forskning är inriktad på utveckling och förståelse av plasmonbaserade system som kan producera kemikalier (artificiell fotosyntes och foto-redoxkatalys), elektricitet och andra spännande saker med hjälp av ljus.
Spin-out med plasmonik transparenta beläggningar
Jacinto Sá är grundare av Duck Technologies AB, ett spin-off-företag som utvecklar mycket transparenta beläggningar för att lösa överhettningsproblem i byggnader, fordon och solceller.

Biografi
Professor i fysikalisk kemi vid Uppsala universitet och docent vid Institutet för fysikalisk kemi, Polska Vetenskapsakademin, Polen. Medgrundare och verkställande direktör för Duck Technologies.
Examen från Universidade de Aveiro, Portugal, 2003 med masteruppsats vid TU Wien, Österrike. Doktorsexamen från University of Aberdeen (2007), Storbritannien. Postdoktor och seniorforskare vid Queen's University Belfast (Storbritannien), ETH Zürich, Paul Scherrer-institutet och EPFL (Schweiz) samt TU München (Tyskland).
Forskning
Min forskargrupp studerar de fundamentala interaktionerna mellan ljus och materia, med fokus på hur ljus omvandlas till elektriska laddningar i plasmoniska system och hur det inducerar närfältseffekter. Med hjälp av avancerade laserbaserade spektroskopimetoder följer vi dessa processer i realtid. De insikter vi får används för att utforma fotosystem för kemikalieproduktion och nanofotoniska tillämpningar. Detta senare arbete ledde till skapandet av Duck Technologies, ett företag som utvecklar avancerade beläggningar för att motverka överhettningsproblem.
