I grew up in Crimea, Ukraine and studied physics at Simferopol University. I obtained PhD in astrophysics at Uppsala University and then worked as a postdoc at Vienna University and NORDITA before returning to Uppsala University.

I study magnetic fields and associated activity phenomena (variability, temperature and chemical structure formation) on the surfaces stars. My scientific interests and research expertise include the physics of stellar atmospheres, stellar evolution and computer methods of indirect imaging of the surfaces of remote objects.
