Macromolecular Chemistry

Protein structure

Design of macromolecule-based materials to create precise and innovative solutions for health, energy and environmental applications.

Our research

Macromolecules are the language of nature. Whether they are naturally occurring or synthetic, their versatile structures and chemistries allow for precise tailoring of their properties to suit diverse applications.

Within the research programme for Macromolecular Chemistry we mainly focus on biomaterials, bio-based materials and functional polymers for health, biocompatible matrixes and fossil-free energy applications.

Our research approach

  • Interdisciplinary research
  • Colloidal interactions, interfacial phenomena, self-assembly
  • Biological-matrix interaction
  • Structure-properties relationship
