The development of future electric and hybrid aircraft places new demands on the reliability of electricity supply and charging. Electrification in the aviation sector needs to be implemented in a way that is resilient and robust.
The researchers in ONGO:iFED are investigating how airports can be electrified, and how electric and hybrid aircraft can be charged with, for example, high-power charging or mobile charging stations. Both the energy and transport systems at airports need to be both resilient, safe and robust to meet our societal needs for electricity and transport.
The ONGO:iFED project contributes to knowledge about resilience for electric flight and increased electrification at airports, as well as how technology in the aviation industry can develop in the future to contribute to more sustainable aviation.
