Individualized virtual type 1 diabetes care
We designed a randomized controlled trial to evaluate the effect of an individualized virtual diabetes care on glycaemic control, treatment satisfaction and quality of life in young adults with type 1 diabetes. The aim is also to evaluate the patient experience of virtual care.
Project description
In this study patients aged 18 to 25 with diagnosed type 1 diabetes for longer than 1 year will be recruited from the diabetes clinic patient register by the hospital staff. A control group will be recruited according to a wait list design. Baseline data will be collected for both groups before randomisation. The intervention group will be offered access to the virtual clinic instantly, and the wait-list control group will be offered the intervention after six months.
