Courses and programmes
The Department of Medical Sciences is responsible for first cycle and second cycle courses on several programmes at the Faculty of Medicine as well as some freestanding courses.
Medicine Programme
As a doctor, you need to master the latest advances in science, while being able to recognise and respond to the people behind the symptoms. This requires broad medical knowledge, scientific thinking, a humanistic approach, interpersonal skills and personal maturity.
The Medicine Programme provides a direct basis for a medical licence and also provides the foundation for further medical research.
Specialist Nursing Programme
As a specialist nurse, you will often work independently and be responsible for advanced nursing care of patients with acute and complex injuries and conditions.
The Department of Medical Sciences provides specialist nursing specialisations in diabetes care and cardiac care.

Through the programme, you will become a specialist in examination and analysis methods in medicine, technology and natural sciences and be able to work both nationally and internationally with biomedical laboratory work.

Then the Biomedicine Programme is for you. The programme gives you a broad medical education and a good foundation for research at universities or in the pharmaceutical industry.
