Epidemiology is the study of the demography of disease. At the Department of Medical Sciences, we coordinate a number of epidemiological studies involving multiple collaborators and many patients followed over time. These cohorts represent a unique opportunity for epidemiological research.
SCAPIS
SCAPIS is a unique Swedish research project focused on the heart, blood vessels and lungs.
PIVUS
The purpose of the study is to investigate the predictability of various measurements in subjects in their seventies.
SMARTEST
SMARTEST is a national type 2 diabetes treatment study.
EpiHealth
Researchers at the Department of Medical Sciences are involved in EpiHealth - Epidemiology for Health - which is a joint Lund and Uppsala University initiative for national and international excellence. The study is coordinated by Lund University.
