Dalia Abdelrahim Awadella winner of the Per Manell Award
The Faculty of Pharmacy congratulates Dalia Abdelrahim Awadella, student at the Master of Science Programme in Pharmacy, on receiving the Per Manell Award for Best presentation of degree project 2024. Honorable mentions go to Josef Edelsvärd and Alice Fors.
At the Faculty of Pharmacy's traditional Project Symposium, students at Uppsala University's Master of Science Programme in Pharmacy present their degree projects. Also according to tradition, the Alumni Association Farmis presents the Per Manell Award for Best presentation of degree project, a recognition that this year was awarded to Dalia Abdelrahim Awadella for her project carried out at the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry's research environment in Analytical Pharmaceutical Chemistry
“It is almost overwhelming to receive the Per Manell Award, and I really want to express my gratitude to Mikael Hedeland for welcoming me into his group and Jakob Haglöf for guiding me through the research project. It has been a rewarding journey and in the future I can definitely imagine myself in a PhD Student position,” says Dalia Abdelrahim Awadella.
The Per Manell Award is, in addition to providing important inspiration to Uppsala's pharmacy students, an important factor for the strong ties between the Faculty of Pharmacy and the Alumni Association Farmis. On site at the Project Symposium to present the Award on behalf of the Alumni Association were Hedda Magnusson and Kristoffer Klerfalk, who also presented well-deserved honorable mentions to Josef Edelsvärd and Alice Fors.
“A pharmacist like Per Manell might appear every hundred years or so, we can all learn a lot from him and it is an honor to present this Award. It is also enjoyable to see that the quality of the students' degree projects remain at a high level, notes Kristofer Klerfalk, CEO at Life Science Invest.
For the students of the Master of Science Programme in Pharmacy, a semester of Work placement training awaits before returning to Uppsala and the Faculty of Pharmacy's graduation ceremony in the university Main auditorium.
