Precisionsdosering av läkemedel

Many drug treatments require careful monitoring and personalization. In precision medicine, methods are used to select a treatment tailored to the patient's conditions and needs. In our research, we develop methods that support personalized drug treatment. In collaboration with Uppsala University Hospital, we have developed and implemented a model-informed precision dosing (MIPD) approach. This method personalizes drug dosing based on the determination of drug concentration in the blood (TDM), aiming to achieve good treatment effects and reduce the risk of drug-related side effects. The method is currently applied for AUC-guided treatment with vancomycin. Within ENOTTA, an EU-funded European multidisciplinary network, the implementation of MIPD for personalized and cost-effective treatment with new biological drugs for chronic inflammatory diseases is being investigated.
