Description

Occupational health and safety and patient safety are closely interconnected yet often managed separately. Integrating these areas is essential for addressing healthcare challenges today.

This project develops, implements, and evaluates a method for systematic and integrated occupational health and safety and patient safety management (SIOHPS). The method is adapted to current regulations and designed to be embedded into organizations' regular routines. The aim is to assess the effectiveness of the SIOHPS-method. The project also includes an economic and process evaluation.

A co-creation approach is applied, involving relevant stakeholders throughout the research process to ensure the intervention is relevant, practical, and sustainable over time. The study is conducted in two regions and includes thirteen workplaces within healthcare services.
