Tenure Track - The Steps for Promotion
Uppsala University's career system, Tenure Track, consists of three levels of employment: Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor.
The Tenure Track system grants assistant professors the right to be considered for promotion to Associate Professor, and Associate Professors the right to be considered for promotion to Professor, according to our promotion guidelines. Advancement within the Tenure Track system is based on a merit evaluation. This means that employees in the career system only compete against themselves, not against their colleagues.
