Research Day
Uppsala University conducts world-leading research in science and technology. Here we develop extremely thin solar film cells, wave power and new space technology, we research atomically thin materials, the physics of stars and the antibiotic resistance of bacteria.
During the research day, upper secondary school pupils can take part in current research and learn more about research and the scientific approach in practice.
The purpose of the research day is to offer inspiring popular science lectures with a link to teaching.
Content of the Research Day
The Research Day offers six parallel tracks:
- Biology
- Physics/astronomy
- Earth and climate
- Chemistry
- Maths/IT
- Technology for tomorrow
Each track includes two lectures by researchers in the field. The lectures are 30-40 minutes long and address the researcher's question, investigations, results and discussion. After each lecture there is time for some questions.
