National competence centres
Vinnova, the Swedish Energy Agency and the Swedish Foundation for Strategic Research fund several national centres of excellence. These centres bring together universities, colleges, research institutes, companies and public sector actors to conduct research in key areas for Sweden's competitiveness. Uppsala University is home to seven of these centres, all leading in energy technology and life science.
