GMAT
The Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) is used in the admission process by many higher education institutions with business programmes. It is an international exam for aiding in assessing an applicant's aptitude for the programme.
Please note that the information below refers to applications made in the international admissions round via universityadmissions.se. If you apply in the national admissions round via antagning.se, you can find information on the Swedish page.
Is GMAT required?
No, when applying to a programme at Uppsala University a GMAT score is not required, but it can strengthen your application. If this should be the case it is stated in the selection for the programme. You will find the information on the programme page under "Application and requirements".
The selection for the programme varies depending on which admissions round you have applied in. In the international admissions round, students with a GMAT score are given priority over those without. A parallel selection is made in the national admissions round where 40% are selected through GMAT.
Tuition fee-paying students and non-paying students are admitted on the same grounds but in different selection groups.
Applying with a GMAT score
You should arrange to take the test as soon as possible if you have not already done so as it can take up to three weeks for your score to be reported.
We accept GMAT (10th edition), GMAT and GMAT Focus Edition, both the on-site exam and the online exam.
For the GMAT score to be used in the selection process you must:
- submit the score from the GMAT test center to Uppsala University with the code for the specific programme,
- upload a print screen of your score to universityadmissions.se or antagning.se.
You must complete both steps no later than the last day to send in supporting documents.
Your GMAT score is valid for five years. Your GMAT score needs to be valid until and including the last date to send in supporting documents. If you have done the test previously, you might need to verify that the score report has been sent to the University. If the test scores are not supplied directly to Uppsala University, they will not be considered in the selection process.
Programmes accepting GMAT and programme GMAT codes
If you apply to more than one programme, you only have to use the GMAT code for one of the programmes.

GMAT admissions statistics
There is no lowest accepted score. The lowest required score for each semester depends on the number of applicants with a GMAT and the applicant’s scores.
We use the Score Concordance guidance provided by the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC). You can review the Score Concordance information on GMAT's website.
