Overview
Digital technologies take an ever more central role in our lives, societies and on our planet. The environmental and climate impact of ICT (Information & Communication Technology) increasingly becomes of relevance and importance. The Digital Ecologies Lab at Uppsala University aims to explore the relation between digital technology, climate change and the future of our local environments, ultimately with the aspiration to aid in establishing more sustainable futures, avoiding and mitigating damage done to our living systems. The lab consists of an interdisciplinary mix of researchers working with diverse stakeholders in different contexts to address these urgent and vital issues.

- Characterising and addressing the increasing emissions and energy consumption of digital technologies
- How digital technologies mediate consumption, in our everyday practices
- Exploring new ways to more sustainably think and relate to the Internet and online services
