Research Project

Acoustic manipulation of droplets and microparticles

In acoustofluidics, ultrasound is integrated with microfluidic devices for precise manipulation of cells or particles. Here we use piezoelectric substrate to create bulk acoustic wave in silicon/glass microchannel for trapping of particles or focusing them in two-phase systems. In view of that, the goal is to develop theoretical and numerical models for 3D focusing in droplet acoustofluidics and to design efficient acoustofluidic devices for particle and droplet manipulations.
